Land clearing on the Central Coast covers a wide range of jobs, a residential block in Tuggerah that needs the footprint stripped before a build, a waterfront property at The Entrance where ti-tree and wattle scrub has taken over the back yard, or a ridge property above Bateau Bay that needs bushfire asset protection work before the summer season. Each job starts with a walk so we understand what's coming out, what stays, and exactly where the permit or planning boundaries run.

Central Coast Council rules on native vegetation matter more than most people realise when they first call. Spotted gum, blackbutt, angophora and banksia all carry protection under state and local rules, and properties near Tuggerah Lakes, Brisbane Water or the national park buffer zones have stricter vegetation removal conditions than standard residential lots. We won't take a saw to anything that needs council sign-off until that paperwork is in order, and we'll point you at the right contact if it isn't yet.

Once the scope is clear, the clearing runs in a logical order, bring down scrub and smaller regrowth first to open up access and machinery paths, then work the larger trees within the approved footprint, chip everything that goes through the machine, and stockpile heavier trunk material to one corner. Mulch can be spread across the site, left in piles for you to use, or trucked away depending on what the next stage of construction or landscaping needs.

What's included

  • Site walk and assessment with permit boundary checks before we start
  • Scrub and smaller regrowth removed first to open machinery access
  • Selective removal of larger trees within the approved footprint
  • Protected trees and keepers marked and worked around throughout
  • On-site chipping of all green waste up to about 200mm diameter
  • Heavier trunk material stockpiled, stacked or hauled to your preference
  • Coordination with builders, surveyors and council officers as needed
  • Site raked and graded ready for the next trade or landscaping stage

When you might need this

  • A new build needs the block cleared to the permit footprint

Land Clearing FAQs

Do I need a council permit to clear trees on the Central Coast?

Often yes. Central Coast Council protects native species regardless of size, and any clearing near Tuggerah Lakes, Brisbane Water or national park buffer zones is subject to tighter rules. Smaller exotic scrub and exempt species can usually go without paperwork. We'll walk the block, identify what's protected, and steer you to the right council contact if a permit is needed before we do anything.

Can you help with bushfire asset protection on the Central Coast?

Yes. Properties along the ridge lines above Brisbane Water and at the national park interface carry real fire risk. We work to defendable space principles, clearing ladder fuels and low scrub within the inner zone around the house. The aim is a property a fire truck can actually access and defend.

What happens to the mulch and timber from the clearing?

The default is chipping on site and leaving the mulch in piles for you to spread or use. Heavier trunk material gets cut into rounds and either stacked for firewood or removed if you don't want it. We'll check what you want done with the material on the day rather than assume.

Can you work around protected trees within a clearing area?

Yes, and it's routine on Central Coast jobs. Spotted gums, angophoras and any tree inside a biodiversity offset or riparian corridor gets marked before clearing starts and worked around throughout. We can install tree protection zones to a council or engineering standard if the builder requires it.
